Description: Eucalyptus neglecta is rated as one of the most cold hardy Eucalyptus for the United States. It features large, rounded, green leaves that are richly scented. Both juvenile and adult leaves maintain the rounded shape. After several frosts, the leaves may take on a rose to purple tinged hue and this is one of the few Eucalyptus species that will tolerate shade. If you are looking for an Eucalyptus species that will take cold - this is it! The Omeo gum also appears to be very drought tolerant, as evidenced by our test of this species here in our landscape. This is one of our most frequently requested species - probably due to the cold hardiness and neglect it can take!
